Error Reduction by Parallel Repetition { the State of the Art

چکیده
We show that no xed number of parallel repetitions suuces in order to reduce the error in two-prover one-round proof systems from one constant to another. Our results imply that the recent bounds proven by Ran Raz, showing that the number of rounds that suuce is inversely proportional to the answer length, are nearly best possible. Our proof technique builds upon an idea of Oleg Verbitsky. We use this opportunity to survey the known results on parallel repetition, and to present the proofs of some previously claimed theorems.

Comparison of state-of-the-art atlas-based bone segmentation approaches from brain MR images for MR-only radiation planning and PET/MR attenuation correction
Introduction: Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging has emerged as a valuable tool in radiation treatment (RT) planning as well as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging owing to its superior soft-tissue contrast. Due to the fact that there is no direct transformation from voxel intensity in MR images into electron density, itchr('39')s crucial to generate a pseudo-CT (Computed Tomography) image ...
متن کاملDoes Parallel Repetition Lower the Error in Computationally Sound Protocols?
Whether or not parallel repetition lowers the error has been a fundamental question in the theoryof protocols, with applications in many di erent areas. It is well known that parallel repetition reduces the error at an exponential rate in interactive proofs and Arthur-Merlin games. It seems tohave been taken for granted that the same is true in arguments, or other proofs where the sound...

Specific delivery of therapeutic agents to solid tumors and their bioavailability at the target site are the most clinically important and challenging goals in cancer therapy. Liposomes are promising nanocarriers and have been well investigated for cancer therapy. In spite of preferred accumulation in tumors via the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, inefficient drug release at t...
متن کاملFuzzy Programming for Parallel Machines Scheduling: Minimizing Weighted Tardiness/Earliness and Flow Time through Genetic Algorithm
Appropriate scheduling and sequencing of tasks on machines is one of the basic and significant problems that a shop or a factory manager encounters; this is why in recent decades extensive studies have been done on scheduling issues. One type of scheduling problems is just-in-time (JIT) scheduling and in this area, motivated by JIT manufacturing, this study investigates a mathematical model for...
